Checking new system performance

We had a new HVAC system installed earlier this year but noticed that it had trouble keeping up on the very hot (>100 degrees) days. Called Supreme Air and scheduled a service call. Colin quickly diagnosed and remedied the issue. System seems to be performing well.

Performed heating pm on both geo systems. Replaced customer provided filter. Found humidifier needed service, customer said he would like to do It himself. Checked capacitors and contactors. Tightened electrical connections. Blowers and coils clean. Flushed out drains. Checked operation of both geos. Measured compressor, blower, and loop pump amp draw. Measured heat rise, loop rejection rate, and flow rate. Let systems satisfy thermostat. Tested aux heat. Units operating normal.
I replaced the air filters with ones provided by the customer. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, including auxiliary heat strips, all are within specification. I checked the flow rate and heat of extraction on the Geo unit and pressurized the ground loop to 65psi. I checked defrost cycle on the Amana heat pump. Both units have normal temperature rise in heat pump modes. Units are operating normal. Customer informed me that the condensate drain line that both units drain into, in the basement was clogged. I confirmed this and cut into the drain pipe where it lies against the floor and luckily I was able to remove the clogg which was under the concrete slab with AC Drain Sucker. I poured a few gallons down the drain to make sure it didnâ€™t back up. I glued drain back together with a coupling where I had cut into it.
I installed new Carrier replacement thermostat for the communicating heat pump. I setup the system and showed the customer a few features. We went to test itâ€™s operation and the heat came on but not the cooling. I finally realized that there was a setting I disabled that made it wait 30 minutes before changing between modes. Unit operating normal.
Service call on 09/14/19 On arrival tray to set the unit to call for heat but the thermostat is bad it is not operating normal I checked electrical connections checked low voltage and amps unit operating normal We have to call back to the customer to tell how much the thermostat repair price. I call Carrier but they are closed. Collected $59 dispatch fee still we have to come back to do fall pm.
Customer is paying outstanding balance for March-August Service Membership
Upon arrival we were told that top floor system wasnâ€™t keeping up when outdoor temps were higher. During diagnostics we found system was undercharged. Added 410a to system to bring Superheat and subcool at manufacture specs. Delta air temp now 21 degrees. Once added we opened up panels and checked for leaks at indoor coil, outdoor coil, and lineset. Found no leaks and unit is operating normal this time. Customer also asked if we could follow up about the water sample for the geo system that we took a few months ago.
Upon my arrival I replaced the high pressure switch and checked for refrigerant leaks. I wired the switch into the circuit and tested to make sure it had continuity across the switch, or that the switch was indeed closed. I then restored power to the system and allowed it to cycle from the thermostat. Once the unit began cooling I confirmed 20+ degree delta temperatures across the evaporator coil and then went to inspect the well pump pressure control to make sure it was engaging and it was. There appeared to maybe be a small water leak from the underside of the new pump control so I tightened and cleaned the water out of the pan. I believe this stopped the small leakage. Iâ€™m just making a note of it so that it is documented. The water could have been from yesterday as well, when the control was replaced. The Geo unit is operating normal now and customer paid $118. Once the prepayment for deposit for parts is applied the invoice should zero out.
Replace pump control valve.
There are 2 main issues. None related to the installation of the intellistart. The well pump pressure regulator device is not working properly and does not bring the well pump on and then the geo unit trips in high pressure. Repeated trips have left the high pressure switch faulty and it will not close. I had it jumped out to troubleshoot but could not leave it jumped out. Geo unit is off now. A plumber is scheduled to come today to replace the well pump pressure control and Iâ€™m returning tomorrow to replace the high pressure switch and wire it in. Customer paid half of both repairs. $640.
Replace voltage absorption system. 80 uf run capacitor had failed. I replaced and tested unit for proper operation. Unit operating normal. Customer paid with a check but I could not mobile deposit it due to lack of internet service. I took a picture of the check for documentation that the customer did pay in full. I will turn the check into the office.
I mounted and wired the Intellistart module into the compressor circuit. I dressed loose wires and dated the module, 05/24/19. I tested the unit for proper operation. Customer paid balance of the repair.
Replaced contactor under flow center dispatch. Didnâ€™t know there were multiple.
Completed work under previous dispatch because I didnâ€™t know there were multiple.
Replaced flow center. Replaced piping from flow center to system. Had to cut back pvc to couplings. Once repaired we pressurized and checked for leaks. Ran flush cart and removed all air from system. Wired in pumps. While Bob was insulating pipes I cleaned evap coil and replaced contactor. Pressurized Loop to 40psi and Returned power to system and ran ac. Checked operation. When flushing out loop we found water to be very brown. Took water sample to send away to check levels. Office please follow up with customer.
On arrival set both thermostats to call for cooling. Measured return temperature, supply temperature, amps, and voltage. Inspected electrical connections, contactor, replaced filter for unit #1,cleaned condensate drain lines and condensate drain pans. Measured voltage absorption system rated 40mfd. Actual reading 42.5mfd. I explained to the customer the benefits of installing 2 ez traps for both units and also recommended to get their ducts clean. Units are operating normal at this time.

Spring Pm On 04/16/19 On arrival set the unit to call for cooling measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain and cleaned checked filters cleaned checked water pressure checked the temperature unit tested unit operating normal at this time. Recommended duct cleaning also Uv lights installation.

Installed 50 gal electric water heater thatâ€™s being used as a holding tank for the water furnace next to it , installed a brass tee and nipple into where heater drain was and installed 1/2 connection for water furnace as well as new boiler drain.
Spring pm on 03/14/19 On arrival set unit to call for cooling measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain and cleaned checked filter and replaced EWP and LWP was low I pump it up to 65/60 psi unit tested unit operating normal at this time. Also customer water heater is leaking customer under warranty I gave quote for customer accepted Customer pay $341.50 on C.C also customer will be home tomorrow afternoon after 1:30 pm
On arrival found unit short cycling and making a lot of noise, compressor pistons are going bad. Scheduled an appointment for a sales person to come back to give them a quote to replace the system unit. Unit is not operating normal.
Fall pm on 11/21/18 On arrival set unit to call for heat measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain and cleaned checked filter and replaced found EWP and LWP low pump it back up to 50 and 55 psi recommended install new UV lights unit operating normal at this time.
