I replaced the txv in the attic at the air handler. I pressurized with nitrogen to check for leaks. I then vacuumed the system into a sub 500 micron vacuum and charged the unit to achieve normal superheat and subcooling and normal delta temperatures across the evaporator coil. Unit operating normal.
Upon my arrival I found the compressor not operating. I removed the thermal insulation from around it and poured cold water on it. I went into the attic and removed the txv sensing bulb and left it hanging to allow the txv to stay as open as it can. The compressor reset and the pressures were normal. I added 1lb 8oz of refrigerant to get 11 degrees subcooling just to keep the system running until the txv is replaced. I contacted CSR and they will contact WF regarding the txv that was ordered on the 23rd of July. Unit is operating now and should keep operating until the txv is replaced.
Upon arrival I found system running at 73 degrees, thermostat set at 68, humidity at 70%. Went into attic and found return temp at 88 degrees and supply at 62 degrees. Found dehumidifier pumping over 100 degrees to return, common return from space is 75. Shut off dehumidifier and return temp dropped to 75 degrees but supply temp stayed at 62. Went to outdoor unit and found entering loop temp at 95 degrees, too high. Tested system using dehumidifier and also turning it off. Humidity rose when turning it off so I kept it on even though it is increasing return temp. Put gauges on system and checked txv. Found txv sensing bulb is not sensing correctly and adjusting metering device, stuck. Txv needs to be replaced. Customer asked if they could use a supplemental ac unit until System is repaired.
Service call on 07/08/19 On arrival set unit to call for cooling measured supply and return air temp 5 digress DT checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps checked outdoor unit checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps the unit operating but when I put my gauge to check pressure my low side 175 psi my high side 600 psi I checked air filters checked condenser coil and evaporator coil and I put 3 oz 410A the low side gauge is going to down to 80 psi but the high side is going up to 500 psi I found the TXV is not operating normal I gave quote for customer customer he is not replacing the TXV I Collected $50.15 dispatch fee and $210.80 for diagnostic fee total $260.95 On C.C
Warranty call 06/03/19 On arrival customer explained to me she has problems with installation fiberglass is coming out of from supply duct checked all connections is good but customer has mean trunk is fibromyalgia duct .I lowered the fun motor speed to 2 if thatâ€™s help tested unit checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps I go the outdoor unit checked pressure and temp checked super heat and subcooling unit operating normal at this time. my recommendation if happened again we have to replaced the hole duct work with sheet metal duct. No payment collected is warranty call
Spring Pm 04/26/19 On arrival set unit to call for cooling measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain and cleaned checked filters cleaned checked compressor capacitor checked all other electrical connections unit tested unit operating normal at this time.
On arrival found system flat ,found a leak inside outdoor unit exactly on true suction line .repaired it .tested it again for leaks,pressure tested it at 200 psi ,vacuumed it to 500 ,vacuumed held ,i then recharged it with 10.93lbs of 410 .system operating normal
I cleaned both drain lines with the brush and blew out with compressed air. I poured hot water to flush the debris down the drain and to make sure it drained properly without leaks. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification. I replaced the filter in the upstairs unit, with one provided by the customer. Unit #1 had normal operating parameters. Unit #2, installed May 2018 had high Superheat and 17 degree delta temperature. I found no refrigerant leaks and added 2lb 8oz of refrigerant. I believe either refrigerant was not weighed in for the evaporator coil or additional lineset length. Both units are operating normal. Recommended to customer installing EZ Traps on each unit. Customer has main panel surge protector.
I replaced the filter with one provided by the customer. I cleaned the condensate pan and drain lines and ran water to make sure it drained properly and that the condensate pump was working properly. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification. I recommend adding Intellistart module to protect the compressor. I confirmed proper flow rate and calculated heat of rejection. I pressurized the ground loop to 65 psi. I measured 20+ degree delta temperature across the evaporator coil. Unit operating normal.
I pressurized the ground loop to 65psi. I cleaned the condensate pan and drain lines and ran water to make sure it drained properly and that the condensate pump was working properly. I replaced the filter with one supplied by the customer. Customer needs to order Aprilaire #413 filters, as there are none left. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification. I operated the unit on second stage cooling mode and measured 20+ degree delta temperatures across the coil. Flow rate was proper and the calculated heat of rejection was normal. Unit operating normal. I recommended installing a Blue Tube ultra violet light. In this instance there is a perfect spot for its to go in front of the coil and after the filter. I mentioned this to the customer and made an estimate.
On arrival checked thermostat was calling for cooling. Measure EWT,LWT,EWP,LWP, return and supply temp,voltage amps,electrical connections,blower wheel clean contactor,replace filter 20x22x2 (2), checked operation. Custumer renew service agreement plan and paid in full,299.00. Unit is operating normal at this time.
Upon arrival I installed zone board and found that the zone damper actuator was faulty and would not close. I went to the supply house and picked up a complete zone damper with new style actuator. I went back and installed original zone board and installed zone damper and tested the unit. The unit is operating normal. Customer had the price quoted from Donna of $593, which the customer paid today. I think the difference is that Yonas had charged the trip fee or something like that because the difference was $59. Customer wanted to see a billing code for zone damper replacement so I made one that I will send along with these notes and invoice.
Fall pm on 02/25/19 On arrival set unit to call for heat measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain and cleaned checked filter and replaced also customer explained to me one of the dumpers is not open or close I have 24v is coming to the board also out of the board checked electrical connections checked voltage and amps I found the INTELLIZONE2 really board is burnt recommended - INTELLIZONE2 really board need to be replaced gave quote for customer. Customer need some time to think about it unit tested unit operating normal at this time. Also I have case number for really board case#459630 part # 17P569-01
Service call on 02/12/19 On arrival found the thermostat out of the wall tested the old thermostat is broke itâ€™s not operating normal I gave quote for customer T4pro programming thermostat customer accepted replacing the thermostat tested unit operating normal at this time. Also customer sign new SA. Collected $451 C.C
Found system tripped at breaker. Door panel door off saw no burn marks . Checked junction box and found the wire nut had melted and hit the cover causing the breaker to trip . Itâ€™s aluminum wire coming up and copper wire going to the unit . There was no noloc paste used and I think thatâ€™s what caused it to melt . Cut burnt wires and reconnect them . Also used noloc paste on all three connections and checked operations on system .
On arrival found humidifier on the ground, we cleaned it, replace the panel, mounted it back, and sealed it with tape. Customer was not receiving enough heat inside the house due to humidifier was not on the right place. We tested it and checked the unit. System is operating normal.
I operated the unit on low and high heat. I set the manifold gas pressures and checked supply gas pressure. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification. I operated the geo unit on second stage heat mode. I set the flow rate and confirmed heat of extraction. I pressurized the ground loop to 65 psi. Unit operating normal.
Had to snake clean out from tub past toilet. Then had to lift toilet to snake main line to out home. Run water and no backup now. Keep an eye on tee under home where water closet set. Tub is running behind water behind water closet , which can cause tub to backup.
